An annual Walking Festival that explores our region’s natural beauty spots has been praised by Wrexham’s Member of the Senedd.

Lesley Griffiths MS congratulated Walkabout Wrexham & District for organising the 2022 Wrexham Walking Festival, which took place from Saturday 4th June to Sunday 12th June.

During the nine day event, people of all ages and abilities were invited to enjoy a series of free walks exploring the picturesque surroundings of North East Wales.

Wrexham’s Senedd Member, Lesley Griffiths, who is a long-time supporter of the group and the festival, joined the team for a walk around Erddig Country Park.

She said: “We are so fortunate in Wrexham to have such outstanding areas of natural beauty on our doorstep and the Wrexham Walking Festival is all about encouraging people to venture outdoors and live healthier lifestyles.

“I commend Walkabout Wrexham & District for all their efforts and am pleased this year’s event was another success.

“It was a pleasure to join the team for a walk around a sunny Erddig Estate and although the Festival has finished for another year, the group organise walks throughout the year and if anyone is interested finding out more information, please email: [email protected].”
